Timber Frames
Our timber frames are made from Australian plantation timber, and board in non stress areas. All frames are corner blocked and glued. The integral strength of our frames allows us to incorporate the Intes seat support system. This system of seat webbing is applied by machine which requires a well constructed and reinforced furniture frame in order to accommodate the high tensile strength of this Italian webbing.
Seat Foam
Mataro Furniture only sources seat foam from Dunlop, Foam Co and Joyce, both reputable Australian made suppliers to the furniture industry. Mataro Furniture insists on using high density and high resilience seat foam which conforms to Australian standards. All foam cushions used are covered by a minimum 5 year guarantee, individual guarantees are model specific and are covered by these companies. (Contact our office for further information).
Fabrics
Mataro Furniture only uses fabrics sourced from Australian suppliers who ensure testing to Australian Standards. This means that every fabric we use is subjected to tests which include seam slippage, piling resistance, colour fastness and abrasion resistance. Each fabric company we deal with provides their own guarantee regarding fabric, every effort will be made to address any defects with fabric suppliers on your behalf. As all fabric is cut and sewn on site we do offer custom fabric selection, please check with your retailer for further information.
Sofa Bed Mechanisms
Select sofa beds incorporate the commercially rated Cozy Mattress® sofa bed mechanism.
The Cozy Mattress® has changed what the world thought was impossible: a REAL BED MATTRESS in a sofa bed. Developed over a 19-year period by one of the industry's top motion designer, the Cozy Mattress® brings approximately 8.5” (21cm) of pillow-top, bed-quality comfort to the sleeper sofa.
Z-Spring Technology® is a dual innerspring system found inside the mattress that allows the 8.5” mattress to fold into the sofa bed mechanism. The extensively patented system provides support and comfort that parallels quality bed mattresses. The mattress is secured to one of the sleeper mechanism cross bars which allows the Z-springs to activate when the mattress is opened.
Unlike other sofa bed mechanisms the Cozy Mattress® system is covered by a 5 year commercial warranty.
